For the past few months at MPI Iberian Chapter, we've been pondering on how we could assist all professionals in the MICE industry.
We identified networking, community, and education as the fundamental pillars.
Specifically, in the Education sector, led by Bea Osorio, we scrutinized the industry's full calendar (unifying associations, editorial groups, etc.) and realized that an event planner had so many options and events to attend that managing the schedule seemed challenging while balancing both professional and work aspects and staying well-informed.
That's when the idea of creating easily consumable, on-demand content emerged, aiming for any professional to reconcile while staying well-informed.
MICeCampus also emerges from the idea of community knowledge-sharing to provide tools and opportunities to entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs willing to contribute and enrich the community.
So, we began by analyzing the specific needs to efficiently carry out the work, and like many of our followers, we turned to AI to identify the most crucial needs. Here are the results:
It seems that MICE industry professionals have the following needs:
- Specialized knowledge in event planning and management.
- Management skills to handle projects, resources, and teams.
- Connections and networking opportunities in the industry.
- Knowledge to adapt to changes and creatively solve problems.
- Updated technological knowledge to use tools and tech solutions.
- Effective communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, writing, and active listening.
Simultaneously, a MICE industry professional also needs training in:
- Event management: Enhancing skills in planning, organizing, and executing events.
- Event technology: Acquiring knowledge about tools and technological solutions for events.
- Marketing and event promotion: Learning strategies for marketing, promotion, and branding of events.
- Financial management: Developing skills in budgeting, financial negotiation, and management.
- Customer experience: Improving customer service, attention to detail, and experience design.
- Sustainability and social responsibility: Learning sustainable practices and social responsibility in the MICE industry.
We also wondered about the needs of company leaders in our industry and found that their key pillars revolve around:
- Strategic vision: They need a clear and strategic vision for the company's growth and success.
- Team management and leadership: They require leadership skills to manage and motivate their teams.
- Market knowledge and trends: They must stay informed about the latest market trends and demands in the MICE industry.
- Business development and networking: They need skills to develop business and establish relationships with clients and collaborators.
- Financial management and budget control: They must have effective financial management and budget control.
- Innovation and adaptability: They should be innovative and adapt to changes in the industry.
- Risk management and security: They need to manage risks and ensure safety at events.
Now that you know the story (along with our purpose and vision regarding the tools we want to offer to the industry), we invite you to be part of it in every possible way.
See you inside!
